Nimbula Builds Open Partner Ecosystem to Accelerate the Adoption of Cloud Operating System Software - March 8, 2011
Santa Clara, CA – March 8, 2011 – Today at the Cloud Connect Conference, Nimbula, the Cloud Operating System Company, unveiled a best-of-breed ecosystem of partners to stimulate innovation and accelerate the market adoption of Nimbula Director, its Cloud Operating System software.
Interest in Cloud Computing is growing rapidly among enterprise and service provider customers alike. Nimbula is collaborating with innovative industry leaders to help customers navigate this transition to Cloud Computing, reduce overall infrastructure cost, and improve business agility and flexibility. Products and solutions from these partners will help deliver a turnkey solution to implement private, hybrid or public clouds using Nimbula’s Infrastructure as a Service software layer.

enStratus is a cloud infrastructure management solution for deploying and managing enterpriseclass applications in public and private clouds. Their partnership with Nimbula will allow customers to use their solution to gain the controls, governance and automation of cloud infrastructures powered by Nimbula Director. Puppet Labs will allow Nimbula Director customers to automate the provisioning, patching and configuration of their operating systems and applications. Thousands of organizations have adopted their solution and will be able to use their existing implementations with Nimbula Director deployments. “We see great synergy between Puppet’s automated systems management and Nimbula’s orchestration of the underlying infrastructure,” said Teyo Tyree, co-founder and VP of Business Development at Puppet Labs. “The combined solution will allow users to seamlessly deploy, manage and migrate applications between existing cloud environments to and from those powered by Nimbula Director.”
Scalr helps customers provision new servers on-the-fly to handle spikes in demand and decommission them when they are no longer needed, handling all database scaling aspects along the way. Connecting to Nimbula Director’s API, Scalr’s new product version will bring joint customers the benefits of application monitoring and auto-scaling. “Scalr is focused on managing scalable infrastructure for new web 2.0 application architectures and we have built support for an important number of infrastructure as a service cloud offering,” said Sebastian Stadil, founder and CEO of Scalr. “Nimbula Director is the only one we'd trust to deploy mission critical corporate systems.”
